Bake sales and Hallowe'en!

Bake sales are exciting events in town. WJHMS had another one of its delicious sales last week to help raise money for students who will be going to Florida at the end of the year. The theme was of course Hallowe'en! There will be another bake sale tomorrow at the high school as well as a scary movie night put on by our Student Council team to kick off the fun packed Hallowe'en weekend. Keep posted for photos of all the horrific activities that will be happening over the weekend. On top of the scary movie and bake sale Friday evening, there will be a community Hallowe'en party at the Youth Centre on Saturday night where Youth Fusion will be costume judges. Then Monday after school will be the Zombie Walk around town followed by a Haunted House at the Youth Centre that is being organized in collaboration with Student Council, the Youth Centre and Youth Fusion.

Sports with Youth Fusion

The students of Willie J Happyjack Memorial School are an athletic bunch, which means that sports are a huge part of Youth Fusion’s after school activities. Currently, we are holding separate boys’ and girls’ basketball practices, with the hope that Waswanipi will be able to enter Cree School Board basketball tournaments. We are also holding soccer practices, floor hockey practices, karate lessons, running practices, as well as free-for-all sports afternoons in the high school gymnasium. If you are interested in getting in shape and having fun, please join in our activities after school!
