Homemade Bread

We have decided to extend healthy cooking week into healthy cooking club. Once a week, on Wednesday, students are given the chance to make a healthy meal or snack after school. Last week we made whole wheat bread. Tomorrow, we'll be making some stuffed peppers. Yum!

Here are some pictures of last week's cooking class, along with the recipe so you can try it at home.
Students mix and knead dough.

The finished product.
Enjoying delicious, warm bread with friends.

Try it at home! (Click on picture to see larger instructions)

  1. As an advocate for fitness I tend to hear many excuses from people on why they are not dieting. One of the lamest of these is the old “I just don’t have time to cook healthy food”. While lack of time is a very valid reason to not want to cook every day for dinner and lunch, this does not completely excuse the lack of trying. There are many ways to eat healthy without having to use more than a microwave. Learn more:
